Kata offers a more informal and laid-back nightlife setting than Patong nightlife. If you are looking for a place where you can relax at night and just have a beer or a cocktail, then Kata would be the place to be. It is definitely less hectic and less crowded compared to Patong and more compact compared to Karon.
A lot of the evening venues in Kata are family-oriented or are more suitable for couples who are looking for a quiet and peaceful evening just talking with each other in an open-air restaurant or bar. There are outdoor cafes and quaint restaurants where tourists can just sit back and take in the beautiful night.
Most of the nightlife in Kata can be found in the northern portion of the beach which is close to Karon. In the southern portion, there are outdoor restaurants, local shops as well as a beer bar area. In between, you have the connecting road which is at the back area of Club Med.
If you are planning to stay in Kata and are interested to enjoy some nightlife, then one of the places that you must visit would be the Reggae Bar which offers a spectacular view as well as good food and fine drinks.
