The nightlife in Phuket Town is also different from that of Patong and Karon. Phuket Town offers a more relaxed but still very lively night scene with many great and trendy bars and restaurants. Possibly the biggest attraction in Phuket Town would be the Thai-style night clubs. These would be spacious clubs but are still packed with people who are drinking, dancing and shouting or laughing. The entertainment that these bars offer would usually be a live band that plays a variety of music: from the Western favorites to Thai folk music. Although there are dance floors in these bars, locals usually cluster around standing tables, which covers up the dance floor area.

You can expect a large portion of the crowd to be made up of Thais, although there are still a good number of tourists scattered, mostly expats living and working in Phuket.

Now, if you are looking for the more traditional and regular pubs, there are also a number of these in Phuket town. They are usually run by foreigners and are considered to be great meeting spots. A lot of these bars are patronized by foreigners who have become established Phuket residents who want to unwind after a day’s work.
