The picturesque Phuket lies off the west coast of Southern Thailand in the Andaman Sea. It is Thailand’s largest island, roughly the same size as Singapore and is surrounded by many smaller islands. Phuket is quite hilly, many of which are covered in lush jungle. The only significant area of rainforest remaining on the island is now protected as Khao Phra Thaeo Park.
Recently JW Marriott Hotel in Phuket received “Thailand’s best employer Award 2010″ for the fifth consecutive year. Due to this other hotels have also pulled up their socks. In the lovely picturesque Phuket there are numerous hotels where guests can stay and enjoy the lush jungle on the hills. The Golden Tulip Mangosteen Resort and Spa is located in the South of Phuket on a private hillside offering fantastic views over Phuket town, various bays and islands of the Andaman Sea. This hotel has 41 villa type rooms and is surrounded by tropical gardens, most of which feature a Jacuzzi tub. Each spacious room offers a breathtaking view of the Andaman Sea. At the centre of the resort there is a free form pool, the Restaurant, the Lounge Bar and the Ayurveda Destination Spa. There is a huge range of local Thai restaurants, fantastic seafood restaurants and international and western style restaurants in South Phuket. In the evening the hotel operates a free shuttle to Rawai and Nai Harn to give guests a convenient opportunity to explore these popular places.
Apart from those already mentioned there is the Samsara Inn which is a small and affordable hotel located in Western Phuket on the hilly settings of Patong Hill. This hotel offers 13 rooms with king-size beds in each room and a balcony overlooking the bay of Patong. In each room features facilities like air conditioning, a minibar, satellite TV, DVD player and telephone with internet access. The rooms are of different sizes like superior rooms, deluxe rooms and family rooms. Other hotels in Phuket are Layalina Hotel, Andatel Patong Phuket and The Palm Beach Club to name a few.
You can also plan trips to beautiful places like Phi Phi Islands. The sheer cliffs soaring from calm, clear seas offer a stunning view. Other places of interest would be Phang Nga Bay, Similan Islands national Park and Krabi. These are all natural beauties with both inland and coastal wonders to explore.
