For exciting nightlife, visit Club Lime on the beach road in Patong. Playing the latest house, electro and techno beats, this is the hippest place on the island to party. Also in Patong, there is the world famous Soi Bangla, where you’ll find a variety of pubs, bars and clubs open until the early hours.
If you fancy something a bit more peaceful, check out Ratri Jazztaurant in Kata, a chilled-out jazz restaurant with one of the best views on the island.
For great Italian food, head to La Gaetana on Phuket Rd in Phuket City.
Phuket Town itself is worth seeing for the unmistakable Sino-Portuguese colonial buildings, as well as a variety of temples and shrines.
If you want sea, sun and sand, the beaches at Nai Harn, Surin and Rawai are recommended. For days out, you could take a trip to Coconut Island, where you can relax in privacy.
For shopping, nowhere beats Patong for choice. Patong is also where you’ll find Jungceylon shopping mall. Central Festival, another large shopping mall, is located 20-minutes’ drive away, near Phuket Town.
A firm favorite with visitors to the island is Phuket Fantasea, billed as the ultimate nighttime cultural theme park. Phuket Fantasea is a magical place where you can watch incredible stage shows and animal performances. There is also a large restaurant and seating for several thousand people in the theaters.
Kata and Karon are two of Phuket’s most famous beaches. A wealth of top restaurants and bars can also be found at Kata and Karon. The beaches are mostly clean and worth a visit.
