The restaurants in Phuket are one of the reasons why the island is so popular. Whatever you like, be it Indian food or pizza, you’ll find lots of places to eat in Phuket. The dining scene has evolved and all tastes and budgets are catered to.

Not all the Phuket restaurants you come across will be expensive. There’s really nothing wrong with eating 30-baht noodles from a street vendor. It’s what the locals and expats do from one day to the next. Thai street food is revered all around the world, so you know you’re in for a treat whatever you choose.

If you like pizza, there are more than enough pizza restaurants in Phuket to satisfy your palate. As you would expect, Pizza Hut is a pretty strong contender. Hot on its heals is Pizza Company, which actually makes better pizzas than the US giant. For something a little less packaged, check out Toto’s near the Laguna entrance. The pizza there is fab.

Another pizza joint worth a visit is Salvatore’s in Phuket Town. There are lots of Italian restaurants in Phuket. Some might say there are actually too many. Many of the Italian restaurants you might see in Patong are decidedly average. Another one in Phuket Town, and one that’s worth a visit, is La Gaetana. It’s a little pricey, but the food is top notch.

As a general rule of thumb, the Phuket restaurants you find in Patong are overpriced and aimed squarely at tourists. The food isn’t always quite up to scratch, so you may want to look elsewhere if you’re a big-time foodie. That being said, there is a decent food court at Robinson in Jungceylon shopping mall. Food courts are great for trying Thai food. They’re also very cheap, which is always a bonus.
